METRO AG has defined the Foodservice Distribution business as main growth driver for the future. We are looking for a passionate Head of FSD Portfolio Management to support on the planning and execution of strategic projects.

The candidate:

• Supports and challenges the top management of selected FSD companies through the strategic planning and reviewing process
• Supports on FSD related M&A projects with providing expert knowledge to a commercial assessment of the underlying target company and an indication on the synergy potential (e.g., purchasing, assortment, logistics and customers).
• Supports the integration of acquired FSD companies into METRO along functional interfaces and supports the realization of synergies based on the value creation plan
• Delivers a monitoring of the general business performance, a tracking of the Strategy Plans and seeks for optimization levers for selected FSD portfolio companies.
• Designs a comprehensive operational KPI benchmarking across all FSD portfolio companies to enable a sound business steering
• Supports on the knowledge and best practice sharing within the FSD portfolio but also with METRO’s FSD businesses; close interaction with the Global FSD team.
• Establishes and manages interfaces between selected FSD companies to METRO Corporate Functions and to other FSD companies
• Prepares and accompanies the top management of selected FSD companies for Investment Committee meetings.
• Makes sure that all METRO standards and guidelines are met within selected FSD portfolio companies to ensure compliance accuracy.
• Supports in enhancing the FSD Center of Expertise which consists of FSD experts on certain commercial and operational disciplines 

• 5-8 years background in dynamic/ high-paced working environments such as consulting, banking, management trainee programs, corporate strategy/ M&A departments or FSD companies
• The candidate has a deep understanding of the foodservice industry, ideally with FSD focus
• Solid knowledge in key financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements) and profound knowledge of the mechanics of FSD business models
• Experience in strategic planning and strategy implementation.
• Track record in managing complex processes with cross-functional international teams (e.g., Strategic Planning, M&A, Post Merger Integration).

• Out-of-the-box thinking required to provide new ideas for business collaboration / synergy generation between FSD portfolio companies and METRO countries (e.g., sourcing of local products)
• Needs to work independently to a large extent; hence an efficient and result driven working method is necessary.
• Candidate needs to have strong intra-personal skills in order to engage smoothly with main stakeholders (e.g., management of FSD companies, team members of Corporate Functions), to gain and maintain their trust to build relationships which are based on transparency and reliability.
