Job Description
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMME
Our traineeship programme is designed to bring you fast-track into a senior expert role in your chosen field. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to work in various specialized areas, exciting projects and gain exposure to different departments and leaders. In addition, you can complete an assignment in one of our METRO countries, providing a truly international experience.
In our trainee programme in the field of Finance, you will gain first-hand experience in our Corporate Controlling and Accounting division. You will get to learn the main financial indicators with which we evaluate the business performance of our international wholesale entities; based on that, opportunities and risks are identified together with local colleagues and business units. You will also deep-dive into international commercial controlling activities that indicate the progress of our overall company strategy. Of course, core financial activities such as group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and investment case evaluation are part of your traineeship. Finally, you will experience how we drive ‘Digital Transformation’ in Finance and how modern business intelligence solutions create value in our company.

Qualifications
What you need to bring to the table to be eligible:
- A master's degree in business/economics with a specialization in Finance, Controlling or a related field with very good results
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
- Engagement in extra-curricular activities is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for learning and growth
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal; German language skill is a plus
