    Job Description

    The convenience Franchise business is an exciting growth lever for Metro that creates significant potential in the markets we trade. We currently have in excess of 8,000 convenience stores and plans are to increase this by over 50% within the next 3 years. Through structured investment and development of our concept, there is not a better time to join the team and lead the continued development of the model over the coming years. Working closely with a global central team and in collaboration with the country leads, you will develop and deliver the Elevate plan and increased loyalty program with our franchise partners. #ShapetheM

    The role requires strong leadership skills to be the concept/approach creator and brand ambassador of the Global Metro Franchise business and create a growth culture at speed to take advantage of the convenience opportunity within our core trader countries and help develop a new and modern convenience franchise offer for our customers. #Together we reach the top

    In addition to leading the team the relevant candidate will be responsible to create close connections with the countries to support the execution and delivery of the franchise program as well as continued development of the Trader principles and benefits across the Convenience cluster.

    The role is also responsible for input and collaboration on Digital developments and support the drive and execution of the Convenience digital strategy as well as other relevant Trader developments within the countries.

    Responsibilities:

    • Development and support of the creation of the Elevate Franchise business model, profit stream and growth agenda (Group Target 2.0bn+ turnover in 10 years)
    • Building a leading convenience team across the countries with strong cross collaboration and engagement
    • Support in defining the Elevate Development areas across the countries and create structured relationships between the center and country to deliver on key aspects, such as improved delivery service, Own brand, Supplier engagement etc.
    • Ownership of Global P&L and responsible for delivery of the Elevate Ambition and creation of increased growth challenges where needed.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in managing Convenience or grocery chain with ownership of multi-functional accountabilities
    • Knowledge of scaling models and creating clear structures, processes, and governance to develop industrialized process for growth.
    • Previous Leadership experience at a senior level/Board Level delivering programs across multiple countries.
    • Excellent Communication and engagement skills required to ensure the program is delivered at the same level across multiple countries including ability to engage, inspire and create strong relationships with country CEO's and Operating Partners.
    • Strong financial understanding identifying appropriate Objectives and Key result indicators and setting processes and measurement to deliver on both.
    •  Experience in digitalization of Retail networks including creation, development, and deployment of solutions.
    • Previous experience of driving growth businesses at scale
    • 5yrs+ In Grocery Retail required. Convenience grocery preferred but not essential.
    • Program management and engagement skills critical - Convenience knowledge and experience an advantage.
    • Passion for people and business development Leadership Development experience
