Supply Chain Management
This department oversees the conceptual and strategic development of our product logistics. Our colleagues deal with cross-process and cross-departmental issues as well as the management of major projects and questions regarding make-or-buy decisions. Colleagues are further responsible for monitoring and controlling the logistical processing of goods. Other areas of responsibility include budgeting, invoicing of logistics services and the creation and maintenance of the logistics components of the procurement calculation. If required, they develop business cases or collect logistically relevant data.
Procurement / Buying
Our colleagues in Global Procurement closely monitor the needs of our METRO/MAKRO and FSD companies - whether in ultra-fresh, food, or non-food products. They manage procurement and assortment while planning the offer for our international business, optimising and developing internal procurement processes and tools. Teams at METRO AG work on co-creating and standardizing our global offer processes and master data management, they develop our own brands, and engage in global sourcing for Ultra-Fresh, Food and Non-Food categories.
Food Service Distribution (FSD)
Our colleagues from Food Service Distribution give support to different METRO/MAKRO countries and FSD companies. They perform a business consulting function and act as a business partner across all stages of the FSD value chain. FSD Steering focuses on giving support, analysing data and working closely on strategic decisions towards customer profitability across all FSD METRO/MAKRO countries. Logistics and Operations support in Backoffice, Warehouse and last mile delivery across all METRO/MAKRO and FSD companies. FSD portfolio management acts as a business partner for all FSD companies, giving support in sCore targets and commercial performance, supporting in strategic initiatives and foreseeing possibilities of further acquisitions to enhance our FSD market expansion.

Our compliance officers at METRO AG ensure that our business is conducted in a legally compliant and honest manner as well as that our employees act and behave accordingly. These measures are suitable for detecting or preventing violations and, for example, are issued in the form of rules and guidelines or are also prescribed by law.
Group Finance & Controlling
Finance is where all the company's figures come together. Their job is to keep an eye on everything and, as internal experts, advise the other divisions on finances. They control the financial planning, the operating forecast and the reporting. Our colleagues in Controlling help with important decisions through reporting and analyses that they tailor precisely to the recipients. In this context, controlling performs a business consulting function and acts as a business partner across all stages of the value chain.
