Job Description

At METRO, we are driving the digital transformation of our People & Culture landscape. As Team Lead HR IT – Squad Lead Global People Payroll, you will lead a cross-functional squad responsible for delivering innovative and reliable payroll solutions across our international organization.

You will combine leadership, product ownership, and HR technology expertise to maximize business value, drive continuous improvement, and shape the future of payroll services at scale.

Your Impact
- Own the squad’s strategy, roadmap, and delivery, ensuring measurable business outcomes and achievement of agreed KPIs.
- Translate business needs into scalable payroll solutions and continuously improve products, processes, and services.
- Lead and develop a high-performing cross-functional team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth.
- Build strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders, proactively managing expectations, dependencies, and risks.
- Drive innovation by leveraging industry trends and modern HR technologies to enhance employee and business experience.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in HR IT, Payroll, SAP HCM, or a comparable environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP Payroll, including payroll schemas, wage types, BAdIs, user exits, and  system customization.
- Experience integrating payroll solutions with SAP HR Core, Time Management, and cloud-based HR systems.
- Proven leadership experience in agile, cross-functional, and international environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills, and fluency in English.
