How did your professional journey lead you to your current role at METRO?

I spent 10 years in the financial industry before joining DISH, specialising in payments and project management. I joined METRO in 2024 and initially led the launch of DISH PAY NOW by coordinating cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Legal, Tech, Sales, and Operations. Today, as commercial manager in business development, I am responsible not only for DISH PAY NOW, but also for alternative sales channels and strategic partnerships. Since then, we have grown into a small but strong team.

What does a typical day look like in your role today?

When I’m not traveling to one of our DISH markets or meeting partners, I prefer working from the office. A big part of my day is spent in cross-functional meetings, where we move projects and initiatives forward together. Around noon, I usually head to the canteen, followed by a short walk before continuing with meetings, emails, data analysis, and the preparation of management updates and steering committees to support decision-making and execution.

Can you share a challenge that helped you grow, and what you learned from it?

One of the biggest challenges was joining the company and immediately taking over the project lead role. I had to build and coordinate a cross-functional international project setup across different METRO entities while driving the market launch at the same time. It was very much a “jump into cold water” experience and taught me how important ownership, adaptability, stakeholder management, and clear communication are in fast-paced environments.

What tips would you give to new employees or someone looking for a career at METRO?

Stay curious, proactive, and open to learning. Take the time to understand the core business, ask questions, and learn from the experience of your colleagues. Build strong relationships across teams and departments because networking and collaboration are key to success!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy being close to nature and spending time outdoors.
