#METROheroes celebrate #NEWGETHERNESS worldwide

Today, 21 May 2021, colleagues across the METRO world virtually celebrated the first global #METROheroes Day. This special day was dedicated to METRO's corporate values, our Guiding Principles, and all #METROheroes. METRO's new togetherness - #NEWGETHER for short - was the focus of #METROheroes Day.

The #METROheroes Day kicked off with a one-hour global live event - a virtual journey through the METRO world. The Guiding Principles, METRO's corporate values, served as a compass. Under the motto "For colleagues by colleagues", #METROheroes from different METRO countries designed the programme content themselves. In this way, they playfully brought the sessions on 1 of the 5 Guiding Principles to life for the digital audience.

Colourful programme around the Guiding Principles: The METRO journey started in France. The French colleagues organised a quiz with international participants on "Sustainable Business". The second stop was Germany: 2-star chef and METRO brand ambassador Tim Raue and his regional manager were available for an interview on the Guiding Principle "Customer Success".

In total, more than 2,800 #METROheroes followed the event live on their screens worldwide. Again and again during the event, live broadcasts were made from room Germany on the Düsseldorf campus to the METRO world, where Andrea Euenheim, CHRO METRO AG, accompanied the event as an interview partner and sponsor of the #METROheroes Day. "We celebrate the #METROheroes Day because it was finally time to celebrate us - our #METROheroes - for the commitment, for always standing by our customers and also everyone else during these difficult times," said Andrea Euenheim.
