Job description

Start date: 01.06.2025
Duration: 12 – 24 Months
Working hours: 20 h/week, up to 37.5 h/week during lecture free period possible
In the Global Own Brand Packaging team, you will actively support us in our day-to-day business and gain exciting insights into the area of packaging harmonization projects that serve wholesale packaging transformation and sustainability company commitments. You will be responsible for Packaging Requirement Profile development and improving the quality of packaging information in the database for common sourced METRO Own Brand products.
Where your expertise is needed:
- Creation: You develop a clear and comprehensive Packaging Requirement Profiles for common sourced METRO Own Brand products ensuring alignment with wholesale packaging and sustainability criteria across our supply chain.
- Coordination: You coordinate packaging data administration on primary, secondary & tertiary level in specification data management platform.
- Collaboration: You have a close collaboration within a cross functional team and international Own Brand suppliers.
- Analysis: You analyze packaging data to optimize existing packaging, including material and cost reduction, that serves wholesale packaging transformation and sustainability company commitments.
- Support: You support METRO/Makro countries with the requested common sourcing packaging information.
What we are looking for:
- Enrolled student: You are currently enrolled at university and study Packaging Technologies, Chemistry, or similar.
- Digital skills: You have proficient knowledge with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- General skills: You want to gain experience in project-management, data analysis, you can effectively communicate with different internal and external stakeholders as well as have a structured way of working and like to act independently.
- Soft skills: You are authentic, honest, curious, result-oriented, pro-active and a team player.
- Communication skills: You are fluent in English (both written and spoken) as our corporate language is English.
