Job Description

Start: 01.04.2025

Duration: 12-24 months

Working hours: 20h/week, up to 40h/week during lecture-free period

As a Finance Working Student, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth financial operations and supporting our logistics processes. Your responsibilities include accurately and efficiently handling financial transactions and records. You'll oversee financial performance throughout the fiscal cycle and proactively communicating with stakeholders regarding updates, discrepancies, or any challenges that may arise.

In addition to financial management, you'll also coordinate and work with logistics teams, internal service providers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, reviewing key financial processes and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily financial operations, including account reconciliation, monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payables
  • Active participation in financial reporting events (Actual, Forecast, Budget)
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes
  • Active involvement in reviewing and re-engineering existing processes and bringing them to the next level to enhance efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and adequate documentation
  • Collaborate with other department teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Design and analyze financial metrics within P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, providing insightful recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Assist in the development and documentation of new financial procedures and policies
  • Provide support during internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • You are enrolled in a University Degree in Business Administration or Economics with focus on Accounting and Controlling
  • Ideally you have some first experience in the Wholesale, Retail, or FMCG industries and have first-hand working experience with bookkeeping and ERP systems (SAP and/ or MS D365 etc.)
  • You have advanced skills in MS Office programs, especially PowerPoint and Excel (Pivot tables; Macros) are desirable
  • You have a passion for financial processes and understand their critical role in driving efficiency and strategic direction, transforming and influencing business success
  • You are a team player and can successfully blend-in to an international team environment
  • Your strong and emphatic personality, coupled with excellent communication skills empower you to positively influence stakeholders involved in your daily activities
  • Willing to work in a modern finance environment in a Logistics Service company requires to cope with defined deadlines, qualitative working results and continuously prioritization – you are master of these
  • You are fluent in English (vocal and written) and an additional European language will be your advantage
